TYLER SAUNDERS

Born and raised in Oregon, Tyler Saunders has spent decades observing and painting the wildlife and landscapes of the American West. Based in Central Oregon, his work reflects a lifelong connection to place, wildlife, and the quiet presence of the natural world.

Saunders began drawing and painting wildlife at the age of twelve. After years working in construction management in Bend, he continued developing his practice through dedicated evening study and extensive field photography. These experiences became foundational references for his paintings.

Working primarily in oils, Saunders is known for richly layered realism and finely detailed surfaces achieved through traditional wet-on-wet techniques. His paintings often emphasize atmosphere and light, allowing the subject to emerge from softened environments while maintaining an intimate sense of presence.
