SALLY MACALLISTER
Sally MacAllister is a Bend-based painter whose vibrant abstract landscapes are inspired by the colors, light, and natural rhythms of Central Oregon. Working primarily in acrylic and oil, she transforms familiar vistas into expressive compositions that balance movement, atmosphere, and emotion. Her work reflects a deep connection to the high desert and Cascade landscapes, capturing their essence through layered color, texture, and intuitive mark-making.
After returning to painting later in life, MacAllister embraced art as both a creative pursuit and a source of renewal. Drawing inspiration from the dramatic beauty of the Pacific Northwest, she has developed a distinctive style that blends abstraction with landscape, inviting viewers to experience nature through feeling as much as observation. Her painting Cascade Sunset was selected as the official poster artwork for the 2022 Sunriver Music Festival, bringing wider recognition to her work within the Central Oregon arts community.
