RUTH CARROLL

Ruth Carroll is a realist oil painter known for her expressive landscapes and thoughtful portrayal of light and place. Born in Turlock, California, she earned a B.F.A. in drawing and has spent over three decades exhibiting widely and building a body of work inspired by the emotional and spiritual resonance of her subjects. Ruth draws much of her inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of California’s central coast and, more recently, the High Desert around Bend, Oregon, where she lives and paints full time. Her layered oil technique and commitment to capturing the beauty of natural light have earned her numerous awards and a broad base of collectors across the U.S. and abroad.
