GRETHA LINDWOOD
Gretha Lindwood is a landscape painter whose work reflects a lifelong connection to the Pacific Northwest. Working in soft pastel and oil, she explores the region’s varied terrain, from open grasslands and high desert plateaus to mountain peaks and coastal waters. Her paintings combine direct observation with an impressionistic touch, conveying both the appearance of a place and the experience of being there.
A graduate of the Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle, Lindwood spent 30 years working in illustration and graphic design. That background informs her approach to composition and color, giving her landscapes a strong visual structure alongside their expressive handling of atmosphere and texture.
Lindwood’s work has appeared in numerous juried exhibitions and plein air events, including Art in the West at the High Desert Museum in Bend and Pacific Northwest Plein Air at Maryhill Museum of Art. Her recognition includes the President’s Award at the Northwest Pastel Society’s International Open Exhibition, First Place at the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association’s Best of Plein Air exhibition, and multiple honors at the Carmel Art Festival.
Through her paintings, Lindwood invites viewers to experience the distinctive beauty and sensory richness of the landscapes she knows and loves.
