ZACH FILKINS
Zach Filkins is a Bend-based artist whose work explores the relationship between memory, landscape, and the emotional resonance of place. Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, his paintings balance atmosphere, color, and composition to create images that feel both familiar and deeply personal.
Working primarily in acrylic, Filkins is drawn to moments that evoke a sense of connection, whether through expansive skies, quiet landscapes, or subtle shifts in light. His work often reflects the experience of being present within the landscape while also capturing the emotions and memories attached to it. Through layered color and thoughtful mark-making, he creates paintings that invite viewers to slow down and engage with their own experiences of place.
Alongside his fine art practice, Filkins has completed commissioned paintings and large-scale mural projects throughout Central Oregon, bringing his distinctive visual language into both public and private spaces. His work is held in private collections and has been featured in residential, hospitality, and commercial settings across the region.
