TRAVIS KNIGHT

Travis Knight is a representational artist known for his oil paintings of wildlife and his portraits of the people of the American frontier. Raised in Bozeman, Montana, he spent much of his childhood outdoors, observing the animals and landscapes that continue to influence his work. Growing up in a family of artists solidified this path; his father was a wildlife sculptor and his mother is an oil painter, providing an early studio environment where he learned to draw the creatures that surrounded him.

Knight studied at Watts Atelier in San Diego, California, a school built on the traditions of nineteenth-century European ateliers. There he trained with award-winning instructors, including ARC Living Master Jeffery Watts. This foundation in anatomy, drawing, and painting from life helped shape the clarity and sensitivity seen in his work today.

Now based in Bend, Oregon, Knight creates custom paintings for collectors while continuing to develop a body of work that reflects his connection to wildlife, the West, and the stories carried through the land and its people.
