Field Sketching meets once per week to explore a new and unique Central Oregon location. All locations are within an hour’s drive of downtown Bend. Each week, we will begin with an exploration and discussion about the location, then a watch a demo of a key landscape feature (i.e., river, mountains, rocks, trees). You will be able to use this technique to design your own artistic observations of the world around you. Field Sketching includes a scientific component that will help us further understand the places we visit and the living and non-living elements of these places. Supplies for field sketching and plein air painting will be included, but you are encouraged to bring your own field painting supplies should you choose to do so. For example, if you are a plein air oil painter, come along and learn about the ecology of these areas and paint along with new friends. Suitable for adults 18 and older.
