You will discover all the joy that watercolor painting offers. We’ll start with a simple formula that is a recipe for success for your paintings and then explore basic color mixing, papers and surfaces and how to get the most out of your brushes.

Gestural Drawing
Join us for Gestural drawing! Gesture drawing is an important skill for any artist. This type of drawing is a loose form of sketching that attempts to capture your subject’s basic form and express movement in quick simplified sketches that can be timed between 15 secs or 30 minutes a sketch..Just as an athlete warms up before exercising or participating in sports, artists use gesture drawing to prepare themselves mentally and physically for a figure drawing session or beginning a piece of work. The fast pace of gesture poses help an artist “loosen up” to avoid a stiff drawing style It is a favorite style for drawing figures that are filled with emotion, though it can also be used for still lifes or any subject you like. Try loosening up and having fun with Gesture Drawing!

We will explore the basics of drawing lines in all their forms such as implied, contour, thick, thin, and much more.
